But writing for the Web is not the same as writing for print because people read differently on the Web.
Everyone who’s observed, tested, or studied online reading agrees that people behave differently when online. When viewing a new page, they don’t read—they scan. They look at headings and subheadings first; they scan for hyperlinks, numerals, and keywords. They jump around, scrolling and clicking—their fingers never far from the browser’s “Back” button. Furthermore, reading from a computer screen tires the eyes. People read 25% more slowly on the web than they read print material.

Write relevant content
The first paragraph of your article is critical. If it is dull, boring and lifeless, your reader will surely move on. Decide on the type of advice you can offer as an expert in your field of expertise or at least discuss news related to your business.

We have come across a lot of websites that publish but forget to check the spelling and grammar of the content at all. Make sure you proofread everything you post to the Web, because grammar and spelling errors will send people away from your site.
Write short and simple sentences
Long sentences can distract your readers from their primary goal of finding information. Make it easy for people to understand what you are talking about. Most readers don’t want to take the time to read something that’s long. Get straight to the point quickly.
Maximize your Bullets, Numbering, Size and Subsections
Formatting your content in a way that makes it aesthetically pleasing to the eye is important too. Lists, bullets, sizes, bolded or underlined headings that break up your content into points, and other formatting tools you may have at your disposal will help make your web content more attractive. Furthermore, use bulleted lists or other formatting will help people understand the essentials of your topic.
Use the keywords with effect
Keyword research can easily become a natural part of your writing process. Always keep in mind that people are using a particular phrase in a search engine with the aim to learn more about a particular product before buying it.
